Mid-States Antique Tractor & Engine Show

An ongoing digital communications partnership for a Nebraska nonprofit—event promotion, website planning, show-day photography, video, and content that helps preserve its agricultural history.

Challenge and requirements

Mid-States has brought antique tractors, engines, and families together near Ashland since 1979. My work so far has focused on helping the show stay visible through Facebook marketing, photography, video, and drone coverage. I attend the events, capture the people and machines that make them special, and turn that material into content the organization can continue sharing.

Strategy and implementation

  • Serve on the volunteer committee and help promote upcoming events on Facebook
  • Attend the shows to photograph the equipment, activities, exhibitors, and people who make them happen
  • Capture and edit event video, including drone footage that shows the scale and atmosphere of the grounds
  • Turn show-day photography and footage into social content the organization can continue sharing
  • Plan the next phase: a new website that better represents the show and makes event information easier to find

Outcome and ongoing use

The work gives Mid-States current photography, video, and more consistent material for promoting its events. The next phase will be creating a website that better represents the show, preserves its history, and makes event information easier to find.

For me, the reason runs deeper than marketing. Antique tractors were something my husband and I loved together. Volunteering with Mid-States allows me to help preserve that hobby while continuing to share it with our daughter. She loves tractors and is so much like her father. This work keeps us connected to something that has always meant a great deal to our family and helps carry that part of our story forward.
